Motorcyclist, 31, trapped after accident at Punggol, passerbys prop up taxi with objects

A motorcyclist was trapped under a taxi on Feb. 21 after an accident at the junction of Punggol Central and Punggol East.

Police confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to an accident involving a taxi and a motorcycle at about 8:25pm on Feb. 21.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they rescued the motorcyclist using hydraulic rescue equipment.

The 31-year-old male motorcyclist was conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Photos of the accident were uploaded on Facebook group Singapore roads accident.com.

Trapped

One photo shows a motorcyclist wearing a blue helmet, pinned under a Trans-cab taxi.

An object is seen placed beneath the car’s bonnet to lift it, creating more space for the motorcyclist.

Another photo shows a delivery rider standing over the motorcyclist while several others are seen waiting with him for help to arrive.

The photos also show a motorbike that appears to be severely damaged.
