Lorry driver, 51, arrested after lorry crane hits Bishan walkway, creates a hole in roof

A 50-year-old lorry driver was arrested after the crane arm of his lorry hit the roof of a covered walkway between Block 239 and Block 240 Bishan Street 22.

Police confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to the accident at about 3:35pm on Feb. 19.

The driver was arrested for driving a heavy motor vehicle with an overall height exceeding 4.5 metres without a police escort, they said.

No injuries

The police said there were no injuries reported.

The incident left the roof with a big hole and broken tiles, as well as several broken frames, reported Shin Min Daily News.

Police investigations are ongoing.
