PMD hit-&-run in Yishun: Male pedestrian, 33, sent to hospital
Police investigations are ongoing.
A 33-year-old man was sent to the hospital after he was allegedly struck by a personal mobility device (PMD) in a hit-and-run incident along Yishun Ring Road on Feb. 6.
A video of the aftermath of the incident was shared on SG Road Vigilante Facebook.
What video showed
A person could be seen lying face down and motionless on the road.
Another person in a black top could be seen checking on the fallen person before tripping on the PMD on the road while attempting to move it.
A third person in a helmet then approached the motionless person lying on the road.
Traffic police and an ambulance were later seen at the scene.
Alleged hit-and-run
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said they were alerted to a hit-and-run accident along Yishun Ring Road towards Yishun Avenue 9 at about 11:45pm on Thursday.
It involved a PMD and a pedestrian.
The 33-year-old male pedestrian was conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police said.
Police investigations are ongoing.
PMDs are not allowed on roads and footpaths, according to the Active Mobility Act.
It is an offence to ride a device on a path or road which it is prohibited from.
Offenders can be fined up to S$2,000 and be jailed for up to three months.
