Remains of 2 deceased infants found in parcel in Thailand
Four Chinese tourists allegedly offered to buy the bodies for 30,000 baht (S$1,200).
The "dried" remains of two deceased infants were found in a parcel in a town in the east of Bangkok, Thailand.
The parcel's contents, intended to be mailed to a woman in Chiang Mai, were discovered after employees at a logistics shop grew suspicious and asked to see what was inside.
Local police were alerted shortly after, on Feb. 6.
Owner of the package was a self-proclaimed black magician
According to The Nation, a man was hired by a self-proclaimed black magician or medium named Pol to bring the package to the shop and mail it.
Police traced Pol's shop in the same province and learned the man had bought the remains from Samut Prakan for 10,000 baht (S$400).
Pol claimed to have the ability to communicate with spirits and has been operating his shop for three years.
The self-proclaimed black magician said four Chinese tourists were brought to his shop by a Thai woman in December 2024 and returned on Jan. 22, 2025.
The tourists allegedly saw the infant remains and offered to buy them for 30,000 baht (S$1,200).
They then supposedly requested Pol to mail the package to a Chiang Mai address at a later date. It was not specified why they wanted to purchase the remains, if they in fact made that request.
The police have yet to decide what charges should be brought against Pol.
