Man allegedly smashes TV screen at Waterway Point hair salon, police report made
I get nervous just telling the barber that I don't like my haircut.
In an apparent fit of rage, a man allegedly went up to the television screen outside the kcuts hairdresser store at Waterway Point mall in Punggol and repeatedly kicked it.
The kicks were powerful enough to smash the screen, which displays queue numbers for customers at the store:

A police report was subsequently lodged by staff at the kcuts store.
The incident, which took place on Feb. 2, 2025, at about 12:30pm, may have resulted from some confusion over the e-ticket purchasing system.
Confusion over the "kcuts Go" app
According to the owner of the kcuts store, the man came to the store with a woman, seen sporting a white cap:

The owner said that the woman was disgruntled due to trouble with the "kcuts Go" app, which allows you to buy e-tickets to join the queue at the store in advance.
Apparently, the woman was trying to purchase two e-tickets on the app but somehow ended up with only one.
She then confronted staff and claimed that she had made payment for two e-tickets instead via Paynow.
The owner told Mothership that this would have been impossible, and insisted that two tickets would indeed have been issued if selected via the app.
The app prompts the user to indicate the number of tickets they want to purchase upon picking the outlet where they want to queue.
The owner shared with Mothership that, based on information from their payment gateway provider, the woman made two payments with the same QR code despite a disclaimer warning against double payments on the app:
The woman, having received only one ticket despite making a double payment, then confronted staff at the kcuts outlet:

According to the owner, a staff member explained to the woman that she could write in via email about the issue, as staff on-site could not verify if her payment went through or not.
And this may have led to the man kicking the TV screen
The owner suspects that the man's vandalism was related to the 'double payment' issue faced by the woman.
The owner shared that the store manager was later advised by the police to file a Magistrate's complaint.
A Magistrate's complaint is an application to a magistrate to inquire into an alleged offence and give directions for further action.
Magistrate's complaints are often filed when an aggrieved party seeks remedy for a non-arrestable offence.
The application costs S$20 and allows the complainant to commence private prosecution.
