You’ve probably seen vending machines for snacks and drinks, and more recently, even for shio buns.

Now, there's a new addition – an old-school cake vending machine.

Uncle Lee Confectionery has launched Uncle Lee’s Old School Delights Vending Machine at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre.

The bakery has over 37 years of history and is known for its simple, traditional cakes.

The cake vending machine aims to provide easier access to its cakes, bypassing the long queues at its physical location near Haji Lane.

It is also located next to Butter Town's shio bun vending machine and offers four cake flavours: kaya, peanut, chocolate and rainbow chocolate.

Each cake is six inches in size, yielding about five to six slices.

The cakes are baked fresh daily and stocked at 11am.

If you miss the morning batch, there is a restock of cakes at 5pm.

The vending machine operates with a touchscreen and a delivery tray retrieves the cake and lowers it to the collection area.

Note that the machine does not provide a carrier for the cakes, so customers are advised to bring their own.
