WhatsappAfter arguing with his girlfriend, who was abroad, a drunk man drove and parked in the middle of a road junction that he claimed gave him a view of her house and decided to call her numerous times.

He fell asleep while he was doing so until a police officer woke him up.

When the officer asked him to step out of his car to do a breathalyser test, the man threatened to attack the police officer and fled in his Porsche without closing the car door.

The Porsche ran over the police officer's foot.

Wilson Wang Lulong, a 40-year-old Singaporean, was eventually caught and sentenced to six months in jail on Jan. 17.

Car parked in middle of junction

According to Shin Min Daily News, on Mar. 2, 2024, police received a report of a red Porsche that was parked in the middle of the junction of Jervois Road and Bishopsgate.

Two police officers went down to the scene and found Wang slumped over in the driver's seat.

He did not respond when they knocked on the window.

One of the police officers opened the car door and woke Wang, asking him to move the car to the side of the road.

When the officer realised that he could smell alcohol from Wang, he asked Wang to get out of the car to do a breathalyzer test.

However, Wang refused and asked the police officer not to disturb him, saying that he wanted to sleep more.

When the officer asked Wang to get out again, Wang resorted to threatening the officer, saying in Mandarin, "If you have guts, take off your police uniform and, damn it, I will beat you. Go away.”

He then sped away with the car door open.

One of the officer's left foot was run over by the right rear wheel of Wang's car.

Although the two police officers immediately ran back to the police car and attempted to chase after Wang, he managed to escape.

He was eventually caught two days later, on Mar. 4, 2024.

The injured police officer had bruises on his left foot and had to take two days of sick leave.

Fight with girlfriend

Wang pleaded guilty to one count of rash act endangering others and another count of using threatening words against a public servant.

Shin Min reported that Wang told the court that he drove to the location because he had a big fight with his girlfriend, who was abroad.

He claimed he could see his girlfriend's home from there and often drove to the same spot after quarrelling with her.

That day, he fell asleep while calling his girlfriend, who blocked him after the argument.

Claims he has no intention of hurting officer

Wang claimed that he did not know that his car ran over the police officer's foot and had no intention of hurting the officer.

As for why he threatened the officer, he said it was because he was shaken awake by the officer and was still sleepy and in a bad mood.

Wang, who appeared in court in a wheelchair, also asked for leniency, saying that he had cysts in his kidneys and slipped discs.

He hoped to continue his treatments before going to jail, he said.
