AMK coffee shop brawl: 3 men, 33-40, arrested, while woman, 36 & man, 40, sent to hospital

Three men, aged between 33 and 40, were arrested for affray after a fight that broke out on Jan. 17 in Ang Mo Kio.

The police confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to the case at 181 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 at 11.55pm that day.

The 40-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman were conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it also assessed two other people for minor injuries but they declined to be taken to hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Caught on video

The altercation was captured by a passer-by and later posted on Facebook group Beh Chia Lor - Singapore Road.

The video shows around nine people, including two women, at a coffee shop.

It started off with two men vigorously hitting a man, who was on his knees, with plastic chairs.

The impact of it was so strong that a part of the chair appeared to break and fly off.

A fourth man then tried to intervene, using other chairs to block the blows.

A woman then appeared from underneath the first man, as she visibly tried to get oriented.

A fifth man later joined in on hitting the first man, using an object he took from behind a pillar.

Another woman could be seen attempting to stop him, but he managed to fend her off.

One of the women can be heard yelling in Mandarin to stop fighting.

Finally, a sixth man, who had been trying to stop the others from fighting, yelled that photos were being taken.

The video cut off as the men turned to look towards the camera.
