Man apparently stabs 3 people at random at Japan train station, 1 dead, 2 injured
The suspect, who fled, appeared to be in his 40s, of slim build, between 165cm and 175cm tall.
A man stabbed three people at a train station in central Japan on Jan. 22 before fleeing, leaving one person dead, various Japanese media reported.
The apparently random attack occurred around 8pm (Japan time) outside the JR Nagano Station, Kyodo News reported.
The man who died, aged 49, was apparently stabbed in the left side of his body, while another male victim in his 30s sustained serious injuries.
The third injured person was a woman in her 30s.
Police are still searching for the assailant.
The three victims were allegedly waiting at a bus stop and targeted at random.
One victim told investigators the suspect appeared to be in his 40s, of slim build, between 165cm and 175cm tall, and wore glasses, as well as something like a white cloth over his head, it was also reported.
Nagano is the capital of Nagano Prefecture.
It is about 225km west of Tokyo and a popular winter sports destination.
