A 223-room hotel will be built in Punggol.

It will be facing Coney Island and located at Punggol Way, the eastern end of Punggol Digital District, an upcoming business park in north-east Singapore, according to The Straits Times, which spoke to JTC Corporation.

The district’s master planner and developer said the development will be a serviced residence or hotel as part of a business park tower to be completed later in 2024.

No opening date has been confirmed yet.

JTC also holds approvals to develop 31,022 sq m of office and 26,865 sq m of retail space in the 50-hectare district before 2024.

The Punggol Coast MRT station will also be open by then.

JTC is seeking proposals from parties interested in operating the serviced residence or hotel on a 60-year tenure.

JTC’s appointed agent, real estate services firm JLL, will conduct the exercise.

Punggol Digital District, to be open in stages from the second half of 2024, will house the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), where students will start classes there from September.

There are eight buildings in the district that range in height from eight to 13 storeys.
