A repulsive sight greeted visitors of Hougang Mall on Apr. 27, 2024.

A trail of what looked like faeces could be seen in the middle of the floor, continuing until it trailed off around the corner.

A TikTok user posted a video which has since garnered 4 million views on TikTok.

"Well, someone had a bad day," the user wrote in the caption.

Speaking to Mothership, the TikTok user shared that the video was taken at around 2:50pm.

The user had just walked into the mall, and saw the trail which started at the entrance and went all the way to the toilet.

He believed the stains on the floor were from human faeces.

The user then went up to the shops, and about 10 minutes later, he came back down to the entrance.

By then, he saw that the mess had already been cleaned up.

While some TikTok users made light of a crappy situation, others expressed sympathy for the person who left the trail and pointed out the possibility of an elderly person facing difficulties.

A spokesperson for Hougang Mall shared that they are aware of a video circulating on social media that shows a trail along the corridor leading to the bin centre on Apr. 27.

"Our staff attended promptly to the trail of food waste, and the affected area was cleaned and sanitised."

"We appreciate the understanding of the public and assure everyone that we remain committed to providing a safe and clean shopping environment," the spokesperson added.
