Vehicle collides with wall panel at Jem carpark, leaves large hole near lift lobby, no injuries reported

A vehicle collided with a wall panel at Jem’s basement carpark on the morning of Oct. 6, leaving a large hole in the panel near a lift lobby.

Responding to Mothership's queries, Lendlease, which manages the Jurong East shopping mall, said no injuries were reported.

A photograph posted on Reddit showed a large hole in a wall marked “Lift Lobby 1”, with debris scattered on the floor beneath it.

The opening exposed part of the area behind the wall, where a travellator could be seen.

Lendlease confirmed to Mothership that the collision occurred at the mall’s B2 carpark.

Area cordoned off for repairs

Lendlease said its security and technical teams responded promptly to secure the area following the incident.

The affected section has been temporarily cordoned off, while repair works are being carried out.

“The safety of our shoppers, tenants and staff remains our top priority,” it said.

Lendlease added that operations at Jem were unaffected, and both the mall and carpark remain open as usual.

Its statement did not specify what led to the collision or when repairs are expected to be completed.
