A 38-year-old woman was found sleeping in an illegally parked car in a private estate in Upper Thomson and was arrested for drug-related offences.
This was after suspected drugs, drug-related paraphernalia and vaporisers were allegedly found in the vehicle.
The incident occurred on the morning of May 24 at Jalan Minggu, a landed residential estate in Upper Thomson.
Asleep
The woman was apparently found asleep in the driver's seat.
The car was illegally parked at an intersection between Jalan Isnin and Jalan Minggu, which prompted a police search.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, three police cars were parked at the side of the road, including a K9 police dog unit vehicle at about 11am that day.
Several officers were seen inspecting the vehicle and removing items from it, as well as letting police dogs sniff them one by one.
Approximately 15 minutes later, officers were seen removing a package from the car and emptying its contents onto the ground for inspection.
Several black box-like objects and multiple items believed to be e-cigarettes and drug-related items were seen.
Investigating officers proceeded to photograph the items.
Unfamiliar
An unnamed resident told Zaobao that the vehicle had been parked at the intersection since around 4am.
She claimed that she was unfamiliar with the vehicle and its licence plate, believing it did not belong to a resident.
The resident added that the woman was conveyed to the hospital at about 9am.
