A 40-year-old man in Thailand allegedly beat his girlfriend to death after suspecting she was involved with another man, before driving around with her body for nearly a day and later surrendering to police.

According to Sin Chew Daily, citing Khaosod, the incident took place in Nonthaburi.

Police reportedly said the suspect, identified as Vinay, later drove to Bang Bua Thong Police Station with the woman’s body placed in the front passenger seat of his car.

Allegedly discovered girlfriend with another man

Investigators said Vinay had been dating the victim, identified as Joey, for about a year.

According to reports, he had recently discovered that Joey was allegedly involved with another man after following the pair to a hotel.

Couple allegedly tried to reconcile before argument turned violent

According to Sin Chew Daily, Vinay and Joey had dinner together on the evening of May 12 in an apparent attempt to reconcile their relationship.

The pair later returned to their apartment, where they allegedly continued drinking and discussing Joey’s suspected involvement with another man.

During the argument, Joey allegedly mocked Vinay over his continued relationship with his ex-wife, accusing him of wanting “two wives”, reports said.

Vinay later admitted to physically assaulting Joey during the confrontation, allegedly slapping and kicking her multiple times.

He reportedly told police that no weapon was used.

According to reports, he claimed the pair eventually went to sleep separately at around 1am on May 13.

Allegedly drove around with body before surrendering

On the morning of May 13, Vinay reportedly left home at around 7am to deliver food as usual.

When he returned around noon, he claimed he found Joey unresponsive and panicked.

He then allegedly placed her body in his car and drove around aimlessly for hours.

The suspect later made a video call to his ex-wife, showed her Joey’s face and admitted that he had assaulted her, according to Sin Chew Daily.

After losing contact with him for several hours, the ex-wife reportedly became suspicious and alerted police later that evening.

At around 8am the following day, Vinay allegedly contacted her again and confessed that he had killed someone.

She then urged him to surrender to the police immediately.

At around 10am on May 14, Vinay reportedly arrived at Bang Bua Thong Police Station with Joey’s body still inside the vehicle.

Police later discovered the woman’s body in the front passenger seat of the car, covered with a towel, according to local reports.

CCTV footage allegedly shows suspect moving body into car

Apartment CCTV footage reportedly showed Vinay carrying Joey’s body out of the apartment at about 3:24pm on May 13 before placing her in the front passenger seat of his car and driving away.

Police also reportedly found multiple chat messages on the suspect’s phone linked to the case.

The victim’s aunt had allegedly been trying to contact Vinay while searching for Joey.

During the exchanges, he reportedly accused Joey of seeing other men behind his back and claimed he had “lost control” emotionally.

Police investigations are ongoing.
