Singapore actress Rebecca Lim has welcomed her second child.
The baby girl was born overdue last week, weighing 3.6kg, via natural birth at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
While the baby had to stay longer in the hospital for observation, both mother and daughter are now home and doing well.
Second child
This is the 39-year-old's second child following the birth of her son in 2024.
She shared that the labour process was not as long as it was with her first child.
Her husband, Matthew Webster, was out of town but managed to rush back in time for the birth.
Family adjusting
Lim told CNA that the transition from one child to two has been "quite challenging", especially since a lot has been going on with her baby girl having to remain in the hospital for medical check-ups.
"I also tried not to think too much about it, because there really isn't anything I can do but to let the medical professionals and the doctors and the nurses do their best. I trusted them to take care of my daughter, and now she's home."
On how her two-year-old son has been adjusting to becoming an older brother, Lim said he was "a bit apprehensive" at first.
She shared that, like her, he does not show his emotions very easily and takes time to warm up to others.
She said she is giving him time to adjust to the change naturally.
“I wanted him to slowly get used to the new experience of having a new sibling. At the same time, I make sure to continue showing him attention and always remind him he's loved. Just because mei mei is here, doesn't mean she's the centre of our universe now; he's still there, too.”
