A Hougang resident was left upset after two pairs of newly bought Uniqlo pants were allegedly stolen from a laundry rack outside her flat on the morning of May 13.

The resident told Mothership that the incident took place between 8:18am and 8:26am at Block 830 Hougang Central.

The items were two pairs of new Uniqlo pants worth S$49.90 each that she had not worn yet.

Caught on CCTV

The actions of the two women were captured on CCTV.

In the footage, the pair can be seen walking past the resident’s unit before looking over the ledge at the end of the corridor.

The woman then went down the stairs before coming back up to purportedly take the second pair in a similar manner.

Not the first time

The resident shared that she experienced a similar incident about five years ago.

At the time, her bra and shorts went missing, though she did not have CCTV footage then.

She said she wanted to share her experience to warn others, and questioned why such young women would want to "become thieves".

In response to Mothership’s queries, the police confirmed that a report has been lodged and investigations are ongoing.
