A member of the family behind Thailand’s Singha beer empire has left all his positions at Boon Rawd Brewery after his younger brother publicly accused him of sexual abuse.
Sunit Scott, also known as “Pi” or “Pai”, had been accused by his younger brother, environmental activist Siranudh Scott, also known as “Psi”, of sexually abusing him when they were younger. Sunit has denied the allegations.

The statement was issued by Boon Rawd Group and signed by Bhurit Bhirombhakdi, president of Boon Rawd Brewery Co Ltd, reported The Nation Thailand.
Boon Rawd said it wished to express its “deepest regret” to Siranudh over the incident and its impact on him, those involved, family members and wider society.
The company added that it understood the concerns and unease arising from the matter, and said it opposed all forms of domestic violence.
Boon Rawd also confirmed that Sunit, as the person accused in the matter, had already left all positions in the company.
The group said it would fully cooperate with relevant agencies in examining the facts.
Sunit submitted letter asking to cease duties
On the same day, Sunit submitted a letter requesting to cease his duties as an employee and executive of Boon Rawd Group and all affiliated companies.

In it, Sunit said he felt uneasy about the news concerning him that had appeared publicly, and apologised to members of Boon Rawd Group and his family for the incident and its impact.
He said in the letter:
“To preserve fairness for all parties, I therefore request to cease my duties as an employee and executive of Boon Rawd Group, as well as all affiliated companies, until everything is resolved and clearly proven.”
Younger brother accused him in video
The controversy came after Siranudh, Sunit's younger brother, posted an emotional video on social media accusing his elder brother of repeatedly sexually abusing him during his teenage years.
“Everyone in my family knows it because they listened to the tape I recorded of his confession but no one took action", Siranudh said, according to AFP, as cited by the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
He also said he no longer wanted to be referred to as a “Singha heir”.
He had said, through tears: “I don’t want to stay in a family that doesn’t value me or have empathy for me. I can’t live with this kind of people.”
Sunit previously denied the sexual abuse allegations, but acknowledged roughhouse play between boys.
The allegations also drew attention to Sunit’s recent marriage to Thai actress Mild Lapassalan, whom he had wed in December 2025.
Mild initially stood by her husband after he issued a categorical denial, posting a lawyer’s letter and saying she would defend their family.
However, she later said her position changed after she heard the full recorded conversation and confirmed that she would temporarily separate from her husband.
The Bhirombhakdi family controls Singha beer, one of Thailand’s most recognisable beer brands.
The family is listed by Forbes as Thailand’s 15th richest tycoons, with an estimated net worth of US$1.75 billion, or about S$2.24 billion.
Apart from Singha beer, the group also has interests in food manufacturing, hotels, energy and property.
