Taiwan student, 20, pays respect & bows to policewoman, 28, who died after getting rear-ended by her, family turns back on her

A 28-year-old Taiwanese policewoman was killed after she was rear-ended by a 20-year-old female university student's scooter, falling and subsequently getting run over by a tour bus.

The student, surnamed Tai, has been publicly shamed after she was captured on eyewitness footage, checking on her bike after the fatal accident.

According to ETtoday, the incident occurred on the morning of Apr. 28 in Annan District, Tainan.

The police officer, Cheng Yung Hsin, was preparing for her wedding to her boyfriend before the tragic accident, The Standard reported.

Pay respects

On the day of Cheng's funeral, Dai, accompanied by her parents, came down to pay her respects.

They were initially blocked from entering the hall.

The family however allowed them to offer incense and pay their respects.

Dai also knelt before the coffin, and bowed after offering incense.

According to ET Today, the family turned their back on them, and the trio left after about 40 minutes.
