Filmed behaviour
Speaking to Shin Min, the man who recorded the incident said he saw the woman throwing bread on the grass to feed pigeons.
He then went up to her to dissuade her, to which she responded by giving him the middle finger and swinging her bag towards him.
"I didn't want to have a direct confrontation with her, so I turned around and left, but she followed me and threw plastic bottles at me," he told Shin Min.
"That’s when I took out my phone and filmed her behaviour."
Lived in area for many years
This comes after the man has lived in the area for 29 years, Shin Min reported.
The man told Shin Min that in recent years, the number of pigeons, birds, cockroaches and rats in the HDB estate has become rampant.
Noting that the situation has become increasingly worse, the man said even vehicles parked in car parks are "not spared from bird droppings".
He added that he had seen the mess left behind after pigeons in the community had been fed many times.
Following the incident, the man said he reported the incident to the police.
Responding to Mothership's queries, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and are looking into the matter.
Always loved animals
Shin Min reported that the woman had always loved animals, according to neighbours who know her.
This includes feeding birds and taking care of stray cats on a regular basis.
According to Shin Min, the neighbours said the woman is usually a nice person and greets the neighbours.
Noting that "everyone knows her", they claimed that she could get easily angered if provoked.
One neighbour told Shin Min: "We neighbours all try our best to be understanding of her, after all, her life isn't easy either."
According to Shin Min, the woman has been suspected of feeding pigeons in the Choa Chu Kang estate for many years.
