SM Lee to visit Shanghai & Guangxi on 5-day visit, will meet local party leaders
His last visit to both cities were in 2024 and 2014 respectively.

Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make a five-day visit to Guangxi and Shanghai, China from May 18 to 22.
In Guangxi, he will meet the Chinese Communist Party's provincial secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee, Chen Gang, who will also host him for dinner.
There, SM Lee will make site visits pertaining to the South China city's role as a key gateway connecting China to Southeast Asia.
In Shanghai, he will meet the mayor of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Gong Zheng, who will also host him for dinner.
SM Lee will also visit companies to understand broader technological developments in China.
High-level exchanges
The visit "builds on the momentum of high-level exchanges between Singapore and China and deepens Singapore’s ties with China at the regional level", said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in a May 17 statement.
SM Lee last visited Guangxi as Prime Minister in September 2014, and Shanghai as Senior Minister in November 2024.
On his upcoming trip, he will be accompanied by Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Manpower Senior Parliamentary Secretary Shawn Huang, Jalan Besar Member of Parliament Wan Rizal, and officials from the PMO and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
