Construction supervisor, 30, dies after large number of bricks fall on him from 2nd floor of Paya Lebar terrace

A construction supervisor, 30, has died after being crushed by a collapsed awning at a Paya Lebar terrace house.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the house was under construction when the incident happened.
About four or five workers were on site at the time.
A worker told reporters that the second floor could not hold the weight of the large number of bricks and collapsed.
A large number of bricks on the newly-built awning, along with concrete, poured down from the second floor onto a site supervisor.
The supervisor was conveyed unconscious to hospital and later succumbed to his injuries, said the police in response to Mothership's queries.
Cordoned off
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 am. on May 16 at No. 5 Jalan Usaha.
When Zaobao went down to the scene, several people, believed to be the site manager, and two workers were assisting the police in their investigation.
The police cordoned off the area around the incident site.
As of May 17, the police tape appears to have been removed.
No workers were present when Mothership visited the house in the morning.
