An online drama has erupted in Vietnam after a newlywed bride revealed her frustration with a female friend of the groom for posting intimate photos with her husband and purportedly engaging in spotlight-stealing behaviour at her wedding.
Groom reportedly severed ties with friend
The bride, Thuy Linh, was quoted by Khaosod Online as saying that the photos were posted on the day of the wedding.
When the groom asked his friend to remove them so as to avoid any misunderstanding, she purportedly replied that the bride was unhappy because she looked prettier.
The woman also supposedly put up posts in which she implied that she was more outstanding than the bride at the wedding.
As details of the story emerged online, the woman came under criticism for her behaviour.
The groom also reportedly severed ties with her to show his support and respect for his wife.
Friend apologises
The woman subsequently posted an apology and said she had acted out of emotion, thereby causing the situation to escalate and affect her friend's most important day.
She added that she had also personally apologised to the families of both the bride and groom, and that she regretted what had happened.
She also acknowledged that while an apology might not be able to completely erase the negative feelings, she hoped to have a chance to improve herself.
In response, the bride called for people to stop attacking the woman and that the family does not want the issue to escalate further.
