Man, 30, accused of taking upskirt video of woman at Dhoby Ghaut MRT tries to run away, apprehended by public

Commuters at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station apprehended a man who was allegedly recording upskirt videos of women.
According to a Mothership reader, the incident took place on May. 15 at around 10pm.
He shared that he was on the platform waiting for a train when he heard running and shouting behind him.
When he turned to look, he saw a man in a yellow shirt chasing another man in a black shirt.
A woman tailing the pair, repeatedly yelling "pervert" in Mandarin.
In footage shared by the reader, the man in a black shirt was seen running down the escalator as someone yelled to stop the man, alleging he was taking videos of the woman.
When the man in the black shirt reached the platform, he was immediately surrounded by members of the public.
The man in the black shirt appears to say "I never" in response to the accusations.
He tried to flee, but he was eventually caught and stopped by members of the public.
As an SBS Transit staff member attended to the scene, the man in yellow could be heard telling the crowd that the man had taken upskirt photos of a woman.
The Mothership reader shared that once the man was caught, he said nothing.

The whole incident lasted about five minutes, and the crowd dispersed once the man was brought away, said the Mothership reader.
“Our staff responded to the incident where a man was on the ground with fellow commuters around him. As it involved an alleged offence being committed, our staff contacted the Police for assistance," said Grace Wu, SBS Transit spokesperson.
Responding to queries from Mothership, the police said they received a call for assistance at 11 Orchard Road at around 10:05pm.
A 30-year-old man sustained minor injuries but refused conveyance. The 30-year-old man is assisting with investigations for intentional harassment. Police investigations are ongoing.
