A resident living in the West Coast area complained of another resident's alleged high-rise littering behaviour after he experienced tissues being thrown from above.
Speaking to Mothership, the resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said this had allegedly been happening on quite a regular basis.
"These tissues end up stuck on the ledge outside my window, especially after rainfall, and residents have no safe or practical way to clean the affected area themselves," he said.
Incidents
The issue of tissue being thrown down had been ongoing for some time, the resident told Mothership.
He added that a few years ago, there was apparently even a packet of cai fan being thrown down.
"At the moment, I have no information on whether other neighbours have made similar complaints, and I am also unaware of which neighbour may be responsible for the littering," he said.
Reports
Following these incidents, the resident told Mothership that he reported the incidents via the OneService app as well as to his town council.
He told Mothership that the town council has since contacted him and will be arranging for cleaning works to be carried out.
"Beyond affecting the appearance of the estate, high-rise littering is irresponsible and potentially dangerous, particularly in a residential area where discarded items thrown from height may pose safety risks," he said.
Mothership has reached out to West Coast-Jurong West Town Council for more information.
