Ex-S’pore air force chief, 74, who allegedly drove into woman & boy, 2, allowed to travel overseas
He was allowed to travel to Jakarta and Bangkok for business trips.

The 74-year-old former chief of air force, who faced traffic charges for driving negligently and colliding with a woman and a boy, was permitted to travel overseas for work-related reasons.
Hearing
In a court hearing on May 14 at about 2:30pm, the accused, Goh Yong Siang, was allowed to travel to Jakarta, Indonesia and Bangkok, Thailand, from May 19 to May 22 and from Jun. 3 to Jun. 6, respectively.
They are apparently business trips.
Goh will need to furnish an additional bail sum of S$5,000 on top of his existing bail of S$10,000.
He will also be required to comply with conditions, such as declaring his travel itinerary before his trips and remaining contactable with the investigation officer during his trips.
Adjournment
Goh's lawyer, Lee May Ling from Allen & Gledhill, initially requested an adjournment to Jun. 2.
However, the judge fixed a hearing for Jun. 3 instead.
Lee also said she hoped to inform the court about Goh’s decision regarding the charges he is facing.
No indication of a plea was given by Goh.
Background
Goh was accused of failing to keep a proper lookout when he made a right turn at a pedestrian crossing along Pasir Panjang Road towards Telok Blangah Road, at the junction with Harbour Drive on May 17, 2024.
As a result, he collided with a woman and a two-year-old boy in a stroller.
Both of them were apparently crossing the road when the green man signal was on.
The woman suffered grievous hurt, and the boy was also hurt as a result of the collision.
