A 35-year-old Chinese national, Wang Siling, allegedly offered a S$100 bribe to a Health Sciences Authority (HSA) investigation officer on Apr. 22, 2026, to refrain from taking enforcement action against her and her husband over the importing of unregistered medical devices.
She was charged in court on May 14, Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) said in a statement on the same day.
The devices were imported for exhibition purposes at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, according to CPIB.
CPIB said that the HSA officer rejected the bribe and the case was subsequently referred to CPIB.
Wang faces one charge under section 6(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
If convicted, she faces a fine not exceeding S$100,000, a jail term not exceeding five years, or both.
"Singapore adopts a strict zero-tolerance approach towards corruption," CPIB said.
