S$745 million of illicit funds recovered & handed over to Indonesian govt in massive stack of cash

Over 10 trillion rupiah (S$745 million) in recovered illicit funds were handed over to the Indonesian government at the Jakarta Attorney General's Office on May 13, 2026.

The cash was piled up in a massive stack, Sin Chew Daily reported, adding that the illicit funds were recovered from various corruption cases and environmental crimes.

According to enanyang.my, the cash was confiscated during the enforcement of administrative fines in land and forest areas.

The money will be entered into the state treasury, Berita Nasional reported, adding that a task force also handed over land confiscated from criminal activities such as illegal mining and palm oil plantations.
