WhatsappThe Singapore Police Force (SPF) issued an advisory to the public, warning of harassment emails that involve digitally modified images of victims.

According to a news release, SPF said at least three cases have been reported since March 2026.

Sent to work email

The victims would receive emails at their work email addresses that contain images of them digitally modified to show them appearing to engage in sexual acts.

If the victim does not respond to the emails, the sender would then threaten to upload the modified images online and send them to the victims' workplace.

SPF shared that information about the victims, like photographs and email addresses, was likely obtained from publicly available online sources.

The police advise members of the public to remain calm if they receive a digitally manipulated photograph, video or screenshot.

The police added that they should not initiate contact or make any monetary or cryptocurrency transfers.

Instead, report the matter to the police immediately and provide a copy of the email.
