SAF regular, 24, found dead at foot of Yishun block, police suspect no foul play

A 24-year-old regular at the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) was found dead in Yishun on the morning of Apr. 27.
According to a joint statement by the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) and Police, the deceased was found lying motionless at the foot of an HDB block.
AsiaOne reported that the incident happened at Block 638 Yishun Street 61, where the victim was found in a drain.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic at the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), a Mindef spokesperson told Mothership.
The death was classified as unnatural but non-training related.
Based on preliminary investigations, the Police do not suspect foul play.
Investigations are ongoing.
Mindef and the SAF said they have extended "their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased".
The SAF is also assisting the family in their time of grief.
