Accident on expressway

According to the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief assistant commissioner's statement, collision killed a 22-year-old tourist who was identified as Muzahid Millad, and injured his wife, identified as 23-year-old Nafisa Tabassum Adiba.

She was sent to a hospital together with the other victims following the accident, NST reported.

The couple, who were from Bangladesh, were in an e-hailing car from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) when they were struck along an expressway.

They had planned to spend a week in Kuala Lumpur for a holiday.

Muzahid, who was reportedly seated in the middle row of the vehicle, sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to NST.

NST reported that the e-hailing driver sustained head injuries, while a 36-year-old female passenger in the suspect's vehicle was also injured.

The suspect also sustained minor injuries.

Gaming content creator

Following the accident, NST reported that a hospital spokesperson said Muzahid's remains were pending collection by his family after the post-mortem was completed on Apr. 23.

Muzahid has since been apparently identified by his fans as a gaming content creator, Advance Gaming.

Checks by Mothership on what appears to be his YouTube channel show that there are over 800,000 subscribers as of Apr. 24.

NST reported that a post on the channel read: "With deep sorrow, it is being shared that Advance Gaming, or Muzahid, passed away this morning (Apr. 23) following an accident in Malaysia."

Penalties

The suspect's breathalyser test results showed that the reading exceeded the permitted limit, said the assistant commissioner.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing death.

NST reported that this offence carries a maximum prison term of 15 years and a fine of up to RM100,000 (S$32,195).
