Man, 37 & woman, 34, arrested at Marina Bay Sands for allegedly cheating man into making bank transfers

The accused are believed to be a couple.

A 37-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested at Marina Bay Sands on Apr. 10 for an alleged case of cheating.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, they were suspected of cheating a man into making multiple bank transfers into a designated account.

The accused are believed to be a couple.

In a 17-second video posted on the day of the arrests, a woman was seen being handcuffed and escorted to a police car by a police officer.

Another police officer could also be seen ahead of them dragging a suitcase.

The member of the public who shot the video indicated that the arrest took place at 3:45am.

A voice off-camera could be heard saying in a mix of Hokkien and Mandarin: “At MBS. Get arrested. What happened? Why get arrested?"

In response to media queries, the police said the duo were arrested for their alleged cheating while following up on an earlier report.

Police investigations are ongoing.
