Body found in Indonesian waters, police believe it's the missing man from Southern Islands boat collision

A 49-year-old man has been arrested for rash navigation of a vessel.

A body found floating off the coast of Karimun, Indonesia, is believed to be the man who went missing after a collision between a pleasure craft and a supply vessel off Singapore's Southern Islands on Mar. 27, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) on Apr. 5.

SPF said it was alerted to the discovery by Indonesian authorities on Mar. 30 at about 3pm.

The body, believed to be the missing person, was found motionless and subsequently retrieved from the waters.

A 49-year-old man was arrested for rash navigation of a vessel.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The Mar. 27 collision took place at around 4:15am.

There were three people on board the vessel at the time, among which two were rescued, the Maritime Port Authority said.
