Man beats wife, 25, to death in China after she finds out he was cheating, he gets executed after appeal fails
He had appealed but was unsuccessful.
A man in China was executed for domestic abuse, leading to his wife's death.
Jin Hao had brutally assaulted his wife, Liu Mingyao, after returning home from a night out drinking.
Liu had spotted a phone conversation where he was flirting with another person.
When she confronted him, he became violent.
He repeatedly punched and kicked her in the head for over 10 minutes, even when she had become unconscious.
Liu had also earlier texted her mother-in-law about the events, leading to Hao's parents coming down to check up on her.
Hao, however, lied and said she was sleeping, and his parents left after 15 minutes.
Hao then went back to his room to rest.
At about 7am, Hao noticed that Liu was not breathing.
He called the ambulance and was later arrested by the police.
Hao's mother was also arrested and subsequently sentenced to over two years in jail for destroying evidence.
She had reportedly gone to the house after finding out about the death to clean and destroy blood-stained evidence.
Repeated violent behaviour
According to Chinese media, Hao had shown a history of violence, assaulting Liu days after initially getting married.
They subsequently had a child.
He also had an affair before this incident.
Even though her family urged her to get a divorce, Liu stayed in the marriage for the sake of her child.
Liu had quit her job after the birth of her child and was dependent on Hao for finances.
She was also terrified that he would be given custody of the child if they did get divorced.
Her child is currently being raised by Liu's parents.
On Dec. 9, 2025, the court sentenced Hao to death for intentional homicide.
Hao appealed the verdict, but it was dismissed.
On Apr. 3, Hao was executed.
