Amos Yee seemingly unbanned from Tinder then banned again
Yee spoke to the media outside the State Courts on Apr. 23, 2026.
Amos Yee has apparently been banned again from dating app Tinder, after previously being unbanned.
Screenshots from what appears to be Yee's discord profile showed Yee's updated status on the app.

Unbanned earlier?
An earlier appeal against a ban on the dating app Tinder was apparently successful, with the ban removed.
This came after he was first banned from Tinder and another dating app, Hinge, with both his profiles removed.

'Surprising'
Speaking to the media outside the State Courts on Apr. 23, 2026, Yee told Mothership that the apparent unbanning was "surprising, very surprising".
"It shows that they have principles I guess, I’m not fully sure why they did that but hopefully Hinge does that too," he said.
"I'm already continuing [to use Tinder], trying to find a date," said Yee, adding that he has been in prison for five years, so he thinks it is "reasonable to try to find a date and want to find that kind of relationship".
He added that he might experiment with other apps.

Purported accounts
On Apr. 17, a photo of a Tinder profile had previously been posted on an X account believed to belong to Yee, who is a convicted sex offender in the U.S. and was recently deported back to Singapore.
From the photo, the profile's description read: "I'm Amos Yee. Like seriously. Famous political activist in Singapore, I blog and make videos fighting for freedom of expression and free food and healthcare for all Singaporeans.
"Separately, a user on a Singapore-based Reddit thread had earlier posted a screenshot of what was said to be Yee's Discord server, where a notice from Hinge purportedly informed him that his account had been banned and removed for violating the platform's Terms of Service.

In response to Mothership's queries, Yee confirmed making the accounts about a week ago, adding that the accounts were banned (for the first time).
He said he was told that his profiles were "inappropriate", which Yee disagreed with, claiming that he had never harassed anyone on those sites.
Convicted criminals not permitted on platforms
Mothership understands that Hinge's policy does not permit any misuse that could put minors at risk, with accounts found to be in violation subject to removal.
The platform's Terms of Use also bar anyone who has been convicted of, or has pleaded no contest to, a felony or any violent or sexual crime from creating or maintaining an account.
Users are also encouraged to report any concerning content or experiences, either on the app or out on a date, to allow the team to investigate and take any necessary action.
Hinge's policies also encourage users to report any concerning content or behaviour — whether encountered on the app or in person.
The platform also has systems in place to detect, remove, and prevent accounts operated by bad actors from compromising the integrity of its community.
Similarly, a check on Tinder's website revealed that the platform's Summary of Terms explicitly states that registered sex offenders and convicted felons are not permitted to use the service.
Mothership has reached out to Tinder for more information.
