The police said that one vaporiser and one pod were seized.
A man who allegedly vaped while attempting to enter someone else's Housing Development Board (HDB) flat in Sengkang was caught on camera stumbling as he fiddled with the door grille for around half an hour.
In response to Mothership's queries, the police said they received a call for assistance at Block 452A Sengkang West Way on Apr. 2, 2026, at about 1:30am.
The homeowner, Cheng, shared a 28-minute CCTV video with Stomp showing the man acting erratically.
Responding to Mothership's queries, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) said the person involved is currently a SAF Full-time National Serviceman.
Tried to open gate
According to timestamps on the footage, the incident started at 1:25am.
Cheng told Stomp that he heard someone trying to open his gate.
Through the peephole, he saw a stranger staggering up and down the common corridor.
He added: "I think he took Kpods until blur and thought this was his flat."
In the footage, the man swayed back and forth before stumbling forward and falling to the floor, losing one of his slippers.
The man stands up and tries to put the slipper back on, but he gives up and allegedly proceeds to take puffs from a vape.
According to Stomp, he tries to unlock Cheng's door grille multiple times and appears to retch before putting his slipper back on.
Cheng told Stomp that his wife did not dare to open the door, and the couple called the police.
Police escorted man away
Based on the video's timestamp, the police arrived at around 1:51am and asked the man, "Are you okay? May I know where you stay?"
The man told the police that he was trying to get home.
According to Stomp, the two officers ask the man if he lives on the sixth floor, and the man responds, saying he lives on the seventh floor.
The man failed to recall his unit number, and the police escorted him away.
