Injured.
A man and a woman were recently sent to the hospital after sustaining injuries when a signboard reportedly fell on them in Holland Village on Mar. 22, 2026.
Bloodstains were observed on the ground following the incident, Shin Min Daily News reported after visiting the scene.
Strong gust of wind
Witnesses at the scene told Shin Min that the man was reportedly bleeding from his head and the woman was said to have a leg injury.
This comes after there was reportedly a strong gust of wind before the signboard fell, according to an employee from a shop near the scene.
Offered help
An employee from a different shop told Shin Min that when he learned that the signboard had hit people, he immediately brought out a chair.
He said: "His entire head was covered in blood. We quickly got him a chair to sit on and wrapped his head with tissues.
"At that time, he was able to walk to the ambulance by himself."

Injuries
Responding to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed receiving a call for assistance at 29 Lor Liput on Mar. 22, 2026, at about 2:40pm.
SCDF conveyed two persons to the National University Hospital.
BCA alerted
A Building and Construction Authority (BCA) spokesperson said BCA was alerted on Mar. 22 at about 2:45pm to an incident where a signage panel fell from a building at 29 Lorong Liput.
"Two pedestrians sustained minor injuries and were conveyed to the hospital where they received outpatient treatment," said the spokesperson, adding that BCA immediately deployed officers to investigate the incident.
Based on preliminary findings, the signage panel had fallen due to the corrosion of the supporting aluminium frame, which likely weakened the connection points, said the spokesperson.
"The main steel frame on the second floor of the building, to which the signage was attached to, remains securely fixed to the building."
Safety checks
Noting that BCA officers also carried out safety checks on the remaining signages on the building and found no signs of detachment, the spokesperson said: "BCA will serve a Notice to Maintain (NTM) requiring the owner of the signage to engage a Professional Engineer to conduct a comprehensive safety assessment of all signages on the building and carry out any necessary repair works."
BCA will also take appropriate enforcement action under the requirements for the maintenance of exterior building features and advertising signages, pending the outcome of the assessment, the spokesperson added.
