A Grab driver who went to pick up a passenger from a block in Jurong East realised the man was walking unsteadily towards his car.

When the passenger got in, the driver noticed that he was vaping.

The driver then decided to drive straight to a police station to report the man.

In response to queries from Mothership, a spokesperson from the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said that the Singapore Police Force referred a case involving a 34-year-old man to them on Mar. 16.

The man was found with two vaporisers and one pod, which have been sent for testing.

Investigations are ongoing.

Speaking to Mothership, the driver said the incident happened at about 6:30am on Mar. 16.

When the passenger got in, the driver said the smell from the vape was "too strong", forcing him to wind down his windows.

Dashcam footage shown to Mothership shows the man walking unsteadily towards the car.

Without speaking to or interacting with the passenger, the driver drove straight to a police station.

When he arrived, the passenger allegedly kept apologising and tried to escape, but the driver managed to hold on to him.

He then approached a security officer at the station for help.

Soon after, four police officers came out to take over and record his statement, the driver said.
