Christy Chung apologises after daughter, 16, shares bathroom selfie that showed friend on toilet

Christy Chung's daughter, 16-year-old Cayla, recently shared a mirror selfie on social media that showed a woman sitting on the toilet.

While online speculation first suggested it was Cayla's sister, it was later revealed to be her friend.

This led to criticism of the teen.

Chung made a public apology on Mar. 23 taking responsibility for her daughter's lapse in judgement.

In her statement, she said that while Cayla was young, Chung was at fault for not properly educating her.

Chung also said she feels remorseful for not spending enough time with them, or educating them adequately.

She has since spoken to her daughter about the incident and deleted the offending image.

Chung also she had emphasised the importance of privacy and respect.

She thanked the public for their feedback and said she will continue growing as a mother.
