'Reached a point where we’re no longer able to continue': Bearded Bella at Craig Road closes after 8 years
"It’s the end of an era."
Bearded Bella, a Melbourne-inspired brunch and speciality coffee cafe in Tanjong Pagar, officially shuttered on Mar. 18, marking the end of an eight-year run.
"End of an era"
In an Instagram post shared on the same day, the cafe reflected on a particularly difficult year.
"We've reached a point where we're no longer able to continue," the post read. "As our lease comes to an abrupt close, it’s time for us to say goodbye to the space we’ve called home."
The cafe also invited customers to stop by one last time for a farewell cup of coffee.
Adding a lighthearted touch to an otherwise bittersweet occasion, the cafe also put its dishes, cutlery, coffee, wine, and even its furniture up for sale, inviting patrons to "take home a piece of Bearded Bella history."
The announcement was met with an outpouring of support on social media.
Netizens flooded the comments section to express their sadness and gratitude, with one user sharing that the cafe held a special place in her love story — having served as the holding area for her wedding.

Food influencer @shihuashishuokeat also made his way down on the cafe's last day, documenting the experience and highlighting items still in need of a new home, including a coffee machine, roaster, and grinder.
Two patrons interviewed captured the collective sentiment: "We love Bearded Bella! Thank you for all the good times and good food we had here!"
