SAS Cineplex replaces Cathay at Causeway Point, offers screening of Tamil films
Previously drew large crowds for a Tamil blockbuster release.
A new cinema, SAS Cineplex, is now up and running at Cathay Cineplex's old space at Causeway Point.
This comes after Cathay shut all its outlets in September 2025 after entering voluntary liquidation.
The opening of the new Cineplex was promoted on the Instagram page of SG Cafe, which is described as an Indian portal.
Tickets are priced from S$5 and are sold only at the counter.
According to SG Cafe, the cineplex will showcase Indian-language films as well as Malay films.
At the start of January, SAS Cineplex drew throngs of people who were vying to get tickets to a Tamil blockbuster release, The Straits Times reported on Jan. 8.
The website for SAS Cineplex Singapore bears the logo for SAS Plaza Trincomalee, which appears to be a cinema complex in Sri Lanka.
