S'pore-registered car seen pumping RON95 petrol at Eco Botanic in Johor
Foreign-registered vehicles should refuel with RON97 or RON100 instead.
Another Singapore-registered vehicle has been caught pumping subsidised RON95 petrol.
According to a photo shared on SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page, the driver of a white Honda Spada was pumping the fuel at a Caltex Educity Petrol station in Eco Botanics, Johor.
The incident allegedly occurred on Jan. 26, 2026, at around 3pm.
New RON95 rules being drafted
The Malaysian government is stepping up to prohibit foreign vehicles from pumping and purchasing subsidised RON95 fuel, with new regulations currently being drafted.
The government is aiming to enforce these new rules from Apr. 1, 2026.
Under current regulations, enforcement action can only be taken against petrol station operators who sell RON95 to foreign-registered vehicles, not against the vehicle owners themselves.
The move comes amid concerns of subsidy leakages, especially in border states.
RON95, which was introduced to help Malaysians with their cost of living, is identifiable at petrol stations by its yellow nozzle and yellow labelling on the pump.
Foreign-registered vehicles should refuel with RON97 or RON100 instead.
