eRegister with MFA for peace of mind.
Singaporeans in Mexico are advised to exercise a high degree of caution and remain vigilant, monitor the local news, avoid travel to high-risk states, heed the advice of local authorities, and avoid large crowds, protests and demonstrations.
The advisory was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Feb. 24, 2026, in view of reported security incidents in several Mexican states, including Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guerrero and Nuevo Leon.
Singaporeans are also urged to take all necessary precautions, familiarise themselves with local laws, and purchase comprehensive travel and medical insurance.
Those in Mexico or are heading there are strongly encouraged to eRegister with MFA and to stay in touch with family and friends.
This is to allow MFA to assist Singaporeans should there be an emergency, such as during natural disasters and civil unrest.
The unrest in Mexico occurred after cartel boss and drug kingpin, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, was killed during a Mexican military operation on Feb. 23.
