Woman kicked out of Kelantan motorcycle rally for wearing outfit that was 'too sexy'
She did not meet the event's modesty guidelines.
A woman attending a large motorcycle gathering in Malaysia, Kelantan, was asked to leave after organisers said she had dressed "too sexy" and did not meet the event’s modesty guidelines.
The incident
The incident took place during the RXZ Forever Legend rally at the Tunjung Rural Transformation Centre, where organisers had introduced a dress code requiring women to adhere to Syariah-based standards of modest attire.
The woman reportedly arrived wearing a skirt and a low-cut top, which organisers deemed inappropriate for the venue.
Programme director says rules were “firm”
Programme director Muhamad Huzaifah Abdul Halim said the decision to turn the woman away was part of the strict measures put in place to ensure compliance with the event’s guidelines.
He said staff had been stationed at the entrance to monitor visitors and enforce the rules from the outset, according to The Star.
“The woman we asked to leave was wearing clothes that were too revealing. That is one of the firm rules we set.”
Huzaifah added that the venue had been designated a “cover up zone”, as reported by Free Malaysia Today, meaning attendees were expected to dress according to Islamic modesty requirements.
Headscarves distributed to other attendees
In addition to the woman being turned away, organisers also prepared headscarves for women who arrived without meeting the dress code.
Huzaifah said around 100 headscarves were made available, and that nearly 99% of participants complied with the guidelines overall at the rally.
He added:
“Only about 30 people needed them.”
Event draws thousands of RX-Z enthusiasts
The RXZ Forever Legend gathering attracted a large turnout, with organisers estimating that around 20,000 motorsport fans from across Malaysia, as well as from southern Thailand, attended the two-day event.
The event was held in honour of the Yamaha RX-Z, a motorcycle model popular in the 1980s and 1990s that continues to enjoy a strong following among enthusiasts.
The RX-Z has become something of a street icon in Malaysia, Free Malaysia Today noted, even appearing at political events such as the PAS Youth general assembly in 2025.
