A woman, 68, got into an accident on her way to work one morning, but is unable to remember exactly how it happened.

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, Feng Qiaoyun (transliteration) said she was heading to work on Jan. 7 at around 6:40am near Block 211 Woodlands Avenue 9.

She only recalls seeing a green light and was preparing to cross the road before losing consciousness.

When she came to, she found herself lying on the other side of the road. She could sit up but could not stand.

At first, Feng asked a woman passing by for help, but the woman refused. After that, a cyclist helped her call an ambulance.

She told Shin Min Daily News that she was unconscious for about 10 minutes, and when she woke up, the tablet she was holding was missing.

Injuries

At the hospital, Feng discovered that she had two torn ligaments in her right leg, severe bruising on her buttocks, waist, inner thigh and arm, a wound on her left calf that required stitches, and a fractured eye socket.

She was hospitalised for a week, Shin Min Daily News reported.

When Feng went to report the incident, she claimed the police asked whether she had fallen or fainted.

"My injuries were so severe, how could they have been caused by a fall? And I have never fainted before," she told the Chinese media.

She added that the doctor told her that her memory may have been affected due to trauma. She shared that the doctor's note mentioned that her injuries could have been caused by a car accident or an attack.

During Feng's hospitalisation, her siblings returned to the scene a few times to try to find her tablet, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

Feng also said that there were no security cameras at the accident scene, so she hopes other witnesses will come forward and tell her what happened.
