M'sia man, 38, dies after getting shot 6 times at car wash in Penang
The case is being investigated as murder.
A 38-year-old man in Malaysia died after he was shot six times by two men in Penang on Jan. 16.
According to New Straits Times (NST), Penang police chief Azizee Ismail said that two men on a motorcycle allegedly confronted the man at a car wash at Jalan Besar Permatang Keling at around 10:20pm.
Case classified as murder
The man was shot at close range six times.
He was later sent to Parit Buntar Hospital in Perak and later transferred to Taiping Hospital, where he was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment.
Azizee confirmed that the case has since been classified as murder.
In Malaysia, the offence carries the death penalty.
If found guilty but the death sentence is not imposed, the two men may face up to 40 years' jail, and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
