M'sia man wins S$4,034,000 lottery after daughter picks winning numbers from board game

A 30-year-old man in Johor struck big after his daughter chose the winning lottery numbers from a board game they played together.

In a statement from STM Lottery Sdn Bhd, the man won the Star Toto 6/50 Jackpot 1 worth RM 12.73 million (S$4,033,897) after trying for three years.

The winner said he placed a standard RM1 (S$0.31) bet on six numbers his daughter picked during a family board game.

"I always play different types of board games with my daughter and when she started to pick the numbers from one game, I thought that I should try to bet on these numbers," he said.

"She's really my lucky star."

He did not realise he won until a few days later when he scanned his ticket with the Sports Toto app.

The winner shared that the winnings will be used to buy a new house for the family, as they are currently renting.

He would also invest the winnings to support his daughter's education.

"I am very grateful to win the jackpot as it made our life so easy and our future better," he said.
