Man, 65, under investigation after van hit 4 cars, 2 vans & 2 lorries in Jalan Besar area

The driver in the damaged van rested his hands and head on the steering wheel after crashing.

A 65-year-old man is helping with police investigations after he allegedly drove a van and hit four cars, two vans and two lorries on Dec. 31, 2025.

The police said they were alerted to the multiple hit-and-run accidents in Towner Road, Serangoon Road and Lavender Street at about 1:35pm on New Year's Eve.

The van was later believed to have skidded in Raffles Avenue towards Stamford Avenue.

The man was conveyed conscious when he was taken to hospital.

Footage of the incident uploaded online showed an orange van exiting a car park when the barrier was down.

A white vehicle was allegedly rear-ended by the van.

The van went against the flow of traffic before hitting a stationary car along Lavender Street.

The damaged van was then photographed after it had allegedly crashed into a traffic signpost on a pedestrian walkway in Raffles Avenue.

The van's windscreen was cracked and the driver's hands and head were resting on the steering wheel.

A Nippon Paint spokesperson told 8world that the van was neither owned nor operated by the company, and the driver was not an employee.
