Thai PM candidate suggests women be allowed up to 4 husbands in name of gender equality
Hmmmm ok.
In a bid for gender equality, a Thai prime ministerial candidate has proposed allowing women to have up to four husbands — with the consent of all parties.
Mongkolkit Suksintharanont, of the Thai Alternative Party, said in Facebook post on Jan. 13 that “in terms of gender equality, women should be allowed to have no more than four husbands, if it is mutually accepted.”
The proposal is the latest in a string of unconventional ideas from Mongkolkit, who has cultivated a public image around such statements, reported Khaosod English.
Other ideas
Previously, Mongkolkit has suggested creating a “space force” for Thailand, promising he would create the space army within one month of becoming the prime minister.

He also suggested offering cash incentives to women to address declining birth rates and mandating daily exercise for working-age citizens in exchange for pay rises.
Thailand general elections
Thailand is set to have their general elections on Feb. 8, 2026.
This would see the country with a new prime minister for the fourth time in three years.
