S'pore literature teacher, 42, handed 14 new charges for allegedly helping loan shark prepare bags of raw pig's hooves to harass debtors
She was handed 14 additional charges, bringing the total to 19 charges.
A Singapore secondary school teacher, who was accused of carrying out harassment on behalf of unlicensed moneylenders, is facing 14 additional charges.
On Jan. 28, Geraldine Quek Yi Ling, 42, is facing a total of 19 charges, including one count of destroying evidence, and two counts of knowingly helping another person carry out a moneylending business, reported The Straits Times.
Quek, who was apparently the Head of Department (HOD) of English Language and Literature at St. Patrick's School, is accused of committing the offences between October and December 2025.
Her name, which was still on the staff directory in November 2025, has been removed from the school's website.
Acted on behalf of loan shark
All of Quek's charges are linked to an unlicensed moneylender identified in court only as “Travis Heng", charge sheets showed.
She allegedly acted on behalf of Heng at a variety of locations, such as Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats in Ang Mo Kio, Geylang Bahru, Kembangan and Pasir Ris.
On Oct. 14, 2025, at around 5pm, Quek allegedly caused alarm to the occupant of an Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 unit by snapping photographs, filming videos and throwing a flower pot outside the unit.
On Nov. 11, 2025, Quek also allegedly sent envelopes with hell notes via post to four separate debtors in the Kembangan area.
Prepared raw pig's hoof alongside 'what's owed must be paid' note
On Nov. 18, 2025, Quek allegedly abetted a man identified as Muhammad Arif Juma’at to cause annoyance to two separate debtors at Bendemeer Road and Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.
She handed bags to Arif that contained a brown envelope, a raw pig’s hoof and a debtor’s note asking the recipient to call Heng.
According to the charge sheets seen by Mothership, Arif would then leave the bags at the debtors' HDB flats.
It was previously reported that Quek had committed similar acts by abetting a different individual, a Malaysian man, Mohd Hairul Nizam Bin Mohd Johar, to deliver the bags on Nov. 19, 2025.
Quek was charged for the Nov. 19 offences on Nov. 27, 2025.
On Dec. 2, 2025, at around 9pm, while Quek was in an interview room at the Police Cantonment Complex, she destroyed evidence by deleting her WhatsApp chat log messages.
The logs contained conversations between her and "Travis Heng".
Quek's case will be mentioned again on Feb. 12, 2026.
