U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth touched on the Venezuela attack at a recent speaking event.

He was speaking at the start of a nationwide "Arsenal of Freedom" tour.

After talking about past operations like Midnight Hammer, their strike on Iran, Hegseth moved on to the most recent military operation.

"We saw three nights ago, in downtown Caracas in Venezuela, as nearly 200 of our greatest Americans went downtown in Caracas, seems those Russian air defences didn’t work quite so well, did they?" Hegseth said.

He brought this up as an example of the U.S. reestablishing deterrence. His comments were then met with a round of applause.
